Solar panel installation is not at all strenuous. Then, how to install a solar panel at home?
Here, we will show you a few steps that can be followed by anyone who wants to install a solar panel.
Solar panel installation requires a mounting structure. This mounting structure is of aluminium. It is endorsed to make sure that your solar panel base is facing south. Since that is where you receive maximum sunlight, if it is not possible to place solar panels towards the south direction, the second option could be either east or west.
The direction depends on the hemisphere you reside in. If you live in India, the south is the best since India is in the northern hemisphere.
The tilt angle (angle between the horizontal ground and the solar module) of the solar panel must be decided as per the latitude of your location. Since, indeed, solar panels placed with an angle similar to that of the latitude would work efficiently.
Once the solar structure is firm, solar modules should be connected. Make sure that all the nuts and bolts are properly firm so that they will last long.
In general, MC4 connectors are used to connect solar panels. These universal connectors are capable of connecting with any type of solar panels.
In the case of a series connection, the positive wire of one module should be connected to the negative wire of another module. In a parallel connection, the positive wire of one module should be connected to the positive module of another module, similarly negative to negative.
Step-4: Connection between a solar panel and solar inverter
Connect the positive terminal of the inverter to the positive wire of the solar panel and the negative terminal to the negative wire of the solar panel. Here, the solar battery, solar panel and grid input should be connected to the inverter to produce electricity.
IMPORTANT: Make sure to turn off the inverter while connecting.
Rooftop solar panels mostly contain off-grid systems. In an off-grid solar system, a battery is obligatory. Hence, this battery is connected with an inverter to recharge it with a grid and solar panel.
The positive of the inverter has to connect with the positive terminal of the battery and vice versa.
To connect the inverter to the grid, you need to plug in the main switchboard. If you want to know the excess energy generated by the solar system, a metering device needs to be installed. Here, the positive wire from the metering device has to connect to the line terminal of the inverter and vice versa.
Once you are over with all the connections/solar system installation, switch on the mains. You can see the total solar unit generated during a day through the digital display.
Hopefully, the question, ‘how to install solar panels?’, is now clarified. Let us opt for Eco-friendly energy sources and save our Earth.
